Drift Diver Specialty
Imagine diving along a reef wall and being able to just hover and watch, as everything comes to you and drifts on by! Using less effort your air consumption drops, and you’ll also get longer in the water. Diving in a current has its own hazards, but with the right skills and knowledge it can be a great experience, and it feels like flying!
You will learn the theory, skills, problems and hazards of drift diving and the special equipment used (SMBs, lines, reels). Training also includes procedures for buoyancy-control, navigation and communication, site selection and overview of aquatic currents – causes and effects, and techniques for ensuring you stay with your buddy or group.
