Richard Frew

Richard learned to dive in 2002 on a whim while on a surfing holiday in the Canaries. He enjoyed it so much that he returned later in the year to do his advanced qualification, his Rescue Diver Course early the following year. He then followed them with specialties in Nitrox; Wreck diving; Deep diving; Night diving; and Equipment.

After various adventures abroad, he was introduced to the challenges of diving in the UK in 2005 when he undertook his Dive Master qualification; along with his Master Scuba Diver certification. He then progressed to complete his Open Water Scuba Instructor qualification in 2006 and set up Dive South in order to teach with the friends he learned with. Richard gained his Master Scuba Diver Trainer rating in late 2009, and has progressed from there.

He is currently a PADI IDC Staff Instructor; Emergency First Response (First Aid) Instructor; an IANTD Advanced Recreational Trimix Diver and looking to expand his training further all the time.
